I’ve sold audio transcripts in physical form as high as $100, $99, $97, $79. Remember that when someone gets something that’s physical, it sticks, the sale will stick because they have to physically send it back. I know numerous e-book marketers online who are so frustrated, pulling out their hair, because people purchase their e-book, and then they ask for a refund. Now what are they going to do, ask for their e-book back? They already have it. So physically, you can’t give someone a refund until you get the product back. If that’s part of your refund policy, people will refund less often if they know it’s a hassle.

Now why am I saying this? Well, I’m assuming you have excellent content, I’m not saying this because I think that your content is poor. I’m saying it because there are many people out there who are not as honest as we like them to be, and this just raises the bar on those people and makes it a little more difficult for them to return it. It makes you a little bit more wealthy because that sale will stick. Plus, when you’re physical, long after the computer has been shut off and the email client has been turned off and minimized, they can be seeing you, and you can be branded on their bookshelf because something physical is something to be held, and when something is held, they can curl up on their couch, read the transcripts, or they can curl up on their desk and listen to you on the CD or through a subway, in New York City, or in a car during dead time in traffic. That’s what I think you should do to make more money with your teleseminar content, because audio transcripts can be sold, or if you prefer, you can even give them away, as bonus gifts.

Let me tell you what I’ve done–one last thing, and one final tip in this area. For an ASK Database call what we did is we had a $1 teleseminar and we had what’s called a forced continuity program, where people automatically had access to ASK Database for 21 days after paying $1 for the teleseminar that they were participating in. Well, if they continued with ASK Database, then they got the audio transcripts to the call, and it was in a 3-ring binder and a DVD case, and the only way they could ask for a refund was if they sent that back. What a great stick strategy, don’t you think? The physical–you got the audio transcripts–and what a great way to get people to continue to use the ASK Database, and it’s just adding more value to their lives, because when something is physical, it’s typically easier to consume. I hope that this tip works for you and you use it in your own teleseminars, because it has worked for us in a big, big way.

Again, good luck and good sales.

You can also put the transcripts in a three ring binder and have those shipped out. I’ve talked about plenty of examples of this before, but a good example of this is at http://www.justaskbrian.com/product.htm. Of course, I’m talking about Brian Tracy. The reason why we do that with the three ring binder is to get branding on the bookshelf in the person’s home or library. Also, when something is physical it is less likely to get returned.

So you can resell the audio transcripts in digital format, which is nothing more than delivering it via molecules on the net with a pdf and mp3 online, or you can put it on a CD, stick that into a DVD case so it doesn’t break, because the jewel cases of course break, they’re brittle, like you get in the music store. Put it in a DVD case so it doesn’t break, you’ve got more surface area, and a spine so you can brand yourself as well, on the bookshelf, and then put it in a 3-ring binder–I would not advise you to put it in a spiral-bind… simply because you cannot brand yourself with a spiral binder.

Here’s what you can do, you can sell the audio transcripts for $10 more and deliver the digital version. I like to use the AudioGenerator Super Snazzy Player to fast forward and fast rewind as I’ve mentioned many times before and I also have a download link where you can burn the MP3’s onto a CD and listen to it in your car or using it during dead time hours so you don’t have to be constantly in front of your computer. So that’s taking the digital version and doing something with it but that’s only for 10 bucks more. The transcripts in pdf again are part of the 10 or 20 bucks that you charged people because they’re molecules. You’re just delivering the content in a pdf and THEY have to print it out themselves. You don’t have to print it out for them.

Now a great way to make more money is to physically get the audio content onto a CD and make sure to have your audio editor chunk them in about 10 minute segments so that if your CD player does do that in the car, you won’t go back to the beginning. Even if you have to go back to the beginning it’s only a ten minute beginning. I’ve put them in 5 minute chunks before for that purpose alone.

Well, let’s first define what transcripts are. Audio transcripts are the audio from the teleseminar. In other words, the word for word audio from the teleseminar that is often edited and enhanced. So you take out all the uh’s and the ah’s and it’s reproducible and you can listen to it in the car, with a Sony Walkman in the subway, on a plane with your laptop. That’s the audio.

Now, what are the transcripts? Well, the transcripts digitally are the pdf transcripts. You take the audio, you give it to your transcriber and then he or she transcribes the audio and then I would send it to an editor, which I do and the editor enhances it and takes out all the uh’s and the ah’s and cleans it up, chunks the paragraphs so they are very easily read and reader friendly. The eye gravity is working with little callouts and headlines and subheadlines. And those are transcripts.

This is an additional tip that I want to give you. On replay lines if you have some type of prize that you want to give for people that are listening to the replay, make sure that you have a pop quiz. And here, we’re just filling in these blanks. “Use streaming video on your ___________ page to improve prospect conversion”. Well the answer is “opt-in”, and there are four other answers. And that’s a pop quiz for people who want to listen to the replay and if they fax in their answers they’ll get eligible for a bonus gift. In this case, it was a free annual subscription to Instant Video Generator. There are all sorts of ethical bribes that you can use.

But the point is, this is an HTML cheat sheet and I’m using it just to get the information and serve it right in front of them. And then to have them print something out , I’m leading people to the PDF version of the cheat sheet. The live links as well as the five tips to instantly boost your web site’s selling power. Now everything is on that page as well, so I’m delivering both formats, both HTML and PDF.

Now, I’ll give you an example of one of my friends, colleagues, and business partners actually, Paul Colligan. What he’s done, he’s been featured at Teleseminar Secrets many times. If you go to: www.tipsmachine.com/alexcall/success.htm, you will see here is a HTML cheat sheet without a PDF. Now you decide what’s more convenient. I personally believe that you should have both, the PDF and the HTML. Paul here has just the HTML, and he whipped this up in probably less than 30 minutes because he’s a pretty good web designer and publisher. So that’s the answer. I would do both. And remember that PDF is a lot more predictable and convenient to print out. What you see is what you get. Good Luck.

Both. My preference for a printable teleseminar cheatsheets is PDF because it is a heck of a lot more convenient to print a page off from PDF. It’s a lot more reliable because what you see is what you get. The page doesn’t get cut off on your printer. With HTML, you never know if it’s going to be printer friendly.

Let me give you an example. Go to: http://instantvideogenerator.com/Call1/page3.asp. Now if you go there, you will see an InstantVideoGenerator video of me, this was for a teleconference, which was the launch of InstantVideoGenerator. Then you will see an arrow with a PDF icon. It says, ‘print this page’. Now when you click that link, it pops up in a separate browser, the PDF cheat sheet, which you can print out.

Now the beauty of the HTML cheat sheet, which is what you would be looking at, is it gives; the date, the time the phone number, the pass code, the topic, the duration, the tip, and then there are the seven case studies there. And then it says, five tips to instantly boost your web site’s selling power.

I have been in a situation where I I had to do a teleseminar, from the side of the 101 freeway in Marin County, right after I received a ticket from a police officer for making an illegal lane change. It was no big deal, but I asked his permission and he allowed me. I’ve done one in parking lots, before; I’ve done many in parking lots, in fact. I did one with Jay Conrad Levinson from a parking lot because I knew I wasn’t going to make it since there was traffic. I did one from the recovery room in Mt Sinai Hospital in New York City, two days after the birth of my son Gabriel. That was out of the bathroom in that recovery room, because that was the most private room in that area. I just took a corded phone, I took it underneath the door, and I had a very successful teleseminar. I’ve done them from boxing matches, I’ve done them from from mountaintops, I’ve done them in my car, I recently did one from Lake Tahoe because I was stuck in holiday traffic, and I just pulled to the side of the road and did one from a Denny’s which was empty.

It’s crazy where you can do them, but what’s important if you’re going to do them constantly, like I do two to three a week, do it from where you’re most comfortable. If you have no problem doing them from your office, and it’s a quiet setting, do it from your office. If you need to do it from an audio studio, where you feel the most comfortable and the most confident in, do it from the audio studio. If you feel most capable and confident from your home office, or from some room in the house like your study, where you’re not only comfortable but you feel as though you’re going to pull it off and you have a web browser there—you can have a laptop in front of you, too, you don’t have to have your PC—then do it there.

But do it where you’re comfortable. That’s how you’re going to deliver the best content. I know this sounds like it’s common sense, but it’s often overlooked, and discomfort often leads to the worst content. So be comfortable, deliver great content, and conduct your teleseminars where you believe you’re going to deliver the most with the least amount of effort.

Now, why do I tell you this again? It’s because this is what’s important to me. What’s important to you? Do you like to do teleconferences from your office? Do you have any problem doing a teleconference at, let’s say, 8:30 PM Eastern time and then coming home at 10:30 PM? Do you have an audio studio in the basement of your home, or do you have one at your office? And do you have any challenges with driving home late at night if you’re on the East Coast or Central time? I’m on the Pacific Coast and if a teleseminar begins at 5:00 or 5:30, it wouldn’t be a problem. But I like to be home, so I do it from my home office.

You decide where you’re most comfortable. The absolute most important thing about a teleconference and doing teleseminars properly, like the pros, is comfort. Comfort, to me, means security. Security, for me, means confidence. Confidence means being capable and having a direction of great content. So, for me, it’s in the bedroom of a home that’s been converted to an office.

I hope that makes sense to you, because you just need to decide where to put your teleconferences, where to record your teleconferences from. They’re going to be live, it’s important to have an internet connection, because you want to be able to surf the web, it’s important to have a phone near you for those last-minute calls you need to make, and it’s important to be comfortable where you have plenty of room to walk. Now as I’ve mentioned before, you should have a land line, not a cellphone. A land line. And not a cordless, because the static can get in the way of having a high quality recording.

I host my teleseminars from my home office. It’s from the fifth bedroom of my home, which I’ve converted into an office, and I have my recording studio here, which is a boom and a professional microphone, I have my headset, which I’m using right now to record an audio recording through AudioGenerator. I have an amplifier that I use, which we’ve talked about earlier—it’s called a Dynametric, and you can get it at Mike Stewart’s site. I have a phone, which is an AT&T two line phone—mine happens to be a 2.4 gigahertz—and my computer is right in front of me, with a browser, and every once in a while I have a laptop. I have an L-shaped desk, and I have plenty of room to roll my chair around, which has wheels on the bottom, it’s a high-back chair, very comfortable, and I also have room to stand.

Now, why did I just go through that? Because I want to be in an environment where I’m most comfortable. I love being in my home. I love knowing that my wife, Amy, is downstairs with the kids, or sometimes the kids are upstairs playing around, banging on my door. That’s not disruptive to me. That gives me a sense of security. Because that’s why I work out of the home, I’m a family man and I enjoy just opening up the door and having a 30 second—sometimes 15 second—commute to my office. And it is possible to make seven figures with a 30 second commute, having two kids in diapers, and being home as a stay-home dad and a stay-home, work-from-home marketer. It’s absolutely possible.

Go to www.asklessbrown.com/teleseminar. There you will see a picture of Les and you will hear Les’s fabulous voice and it says: “Give me 90 minutes and I’ll teach you my 12 success secrets to deliver more effective and memorable public speaking presentations”. Then you have the date and you have all the benefits for attending that we got from the Ask campaign. Such as knowing your audience, uncovering your topic, overcoming stage fright, what fees to charge, etc…

Now at the bottom you see a VIP code registration, which saves $40 on tuition and an unadvertised bonus gift, which is “Les Brown’s tips which make good speeches great”. Now we created this and this is just an additional bonus gift and the discount there is an addition incentive to get registered.

Now what does that have to do with the Value Builder page? Well, I’ve found that you need evidence. You need evidence that there is normal registration and people do pay the normal registration fee. If you go to the bottom of the page, at www.asklesbrown/teleseminar and click normal registration tuition, you’ll see 79 bucks. What will come up is a page, and this is something I know of no one else using- it’s something I created in the year 2002. And at the top of the page it says: “learn 12 success secrets to deliver more effective and memorable public speaking presentations” This is a registration page. It doesn’t ask for a credit card because I don’t want it to be a secure page. And then there’s check boxes, says normal teleseminar tuition, $79. Well that’s edifying the $79 fee. Then MP3 recorded download files, $20. Well now I can say that the MP3 audios are $20. Adobe Acrobat PDF transcripts, those are the written transcripts, that’s an additional 20 bucks. Think about this: $79 for the normal tuition, without VIP code, The MP3 audios are 20 bucks, The Adobe Acrobat PDF are another 20 bucks, That’s $40 and I’m mentioning that this $40 they can get that for $10 if they order before the call. See how I’m edifying and supporting the price structure I have and really it’s authentic. It is from the heart, it’s authentic, but it’s giving people evidence to see that we’re not trying to put the wool over their eyes.

If you’re on that page you’ll see: 1-hour private consultation with Les Brown: $1500.

I asked Les: “Hey, what do you charge for private consultation?” I said, ”How about 1500 bucks?” Well we put that there. There was a premier speaker summit that he had in Orlando, right before the Ask Les Brown teleconference, and that was $2,495; that was the actual tuition. So if you add all of these up, and we put a little script in here that adds them up, there is $4,114. Take off the premier speaker summit and there’s $1,619. Put the normal teleseminar tuition of 79, the MP3 audios and Adobe Acrobat transcripts, that’s $119. Imagine, if you can get that for $49, isn’t that a bargain? That’s the Value Builder page. That’s the power of it. The power is to evoke believability and to instill edification that this is what we should be charging. I hope that you also have a Value Builder page in your teleseminar efforts.
